Art Series Hotels in Australia is at it again. Last year they had a campaign challenging people to “Stay a Night, Steal the Art.” If you located the hidden Banksy piece, it was yours. Simple.
Their newest campaign engages one of the world’s best living art forgers, Tony Tetro. Which Warhol’s Warhol’s runs until August 3 and asks guests to select the real Warhol from a line up of ten to go into the chance to win. Very clever!
The use of social media by hotels is becoming commonplace, but while large hotel chains take their time thinking about strategies and best practices, independent hotel operators are taking great strides to creatively and effectively communicate with their guests. In 2011, I’ve seen some brilliant marketing schemes using social media and would love to know if you’ve come across any others.
