Dress codes do NOT equal well-dressed

Does this sound familiar?

You walk up to a bar, restaurant or club dressed in pretty damn decent clothing.  You’re looking good, dressed to impress and having a good time with your friends.  But then you’re told that the establishment has a strict dress code which requires shoes – proper shoes, and your good looking sneakers, sandals or Havaiana’s just aren’t going to cut it.

Exceeding expectations in exclusive settings

I’m particularly fond of unique concepts that deliver, and 001 is one that doesn’t disappoint.  Tucked behind some shoddy street stands in the wet market on Wellington Street is a curiously clean door with a spotlight on a doorbell, and an even more curious camera monitoring your every move.  Though there’s a relatively strict door policy (no groups larger than 6 and you’ll only ever hear about the place via word of mouth), what you find inside is a wonderfully tasteful conceptualization of a modern day speakeasy.  Classic drinks made to perfection, cozy seating arrangements, low light, attention to detail, and owners who are young, ambitious, and love what they do.
